This pic is going to have no background, so he'll be just floating there in white space. I thought I might do his feet like this:
His right knee will be slightly bent.
His right foot. You see directly from the front. The foot is the eye view, so you can't see the bottom of his foot.
The left foot. This will be from the 3/4 view, where you see the inside of his foot. The back of foot will be slightly lifted, so only the front part and his toes will be touching the "floor".
Think this will work well? Or should I try to come up with a different look?

i think that sounds about right, except his right foot should probably be turned slightly away from the viewer instead of directly at him. also, theres something bothering me a little bit about the left side of his lower torso. but that is looking really good so far, reminds me of a character from tekken or something |

I see what you mean about the torso. Thanks, I missed that. This is the character from Tekken. It's Eddy. This is for my friend QDogg(probably the best Eddy Gordo player in the US).

well i am not sure what kinda advice you want.
Do you want someone to just scetch a sample for you or just give idea's.
here is a page that shows feet stuff.http://www.antsin3d.com/loomis/page26.jpg
also if you have poser 4 just put the model in the same type of pose and see how the feet look just an idea

Fairly simple idea, and you can tell me to shut up if this is beneath you. (looking at your art work I am belive me)
Stand the way you are intending to draw your figure. If you feel comfortable standing like this then 80% of the time your figure will look comfortable. Tense ready to strike, relaxed, in extreme pain etc.
This looks like an action type lets kick some arse type character. "Cocking the ankle" like you do in a KickBoxing stance can make a big differance to the distribution of weight
Usually the back foot is heel off the ground at 45 degrees, while front points directly ahead flat, positioned close to being directly under the leading shoulder (you can alternate the heel off the ground depending on a kick/punch being the initial attack)
Try it in front of a mirror and check how it changes your weight distribution and the impact on the look of the calf muscle's (no problem if he's wearing long pants like your guy)
Best model you have is yourself, you'll be able to FEEL if the foot position is right.
What sort of style are you going for here? he looks kinda "capeiria' (my spelling sux, that brazilian dance number with the big one handed over head kicks) |

Thanks for the advice. Their all great, so don't worry your advice might not be good enough.
Basically, he's about to start a fight, and he's pointing at the opp before the fight. It would be easier to understand if you play Tekken, and know a lot about Eddy. It's kind of hard for me to explain what I'm looking for.

There is a lot of good foot advice, but (this is a humble opinion from someone learning about light, shadows and their interaction), the shadow from his right arm seems to be making his lats very flat. You have ambient light from behind striking the left arm (very nicely, in fact), but nothing on his right side. |

hehe.. i'm gonna comment on something else besides the foot . The pants near the top are a bit odd. If thos were draw string pants, then the top would be creased over each other... not just look like an iron is constantly pressing it |

Yea, thats how most people play with him, but there are some people that really know how to use them, and they kick ass. He has really good range and some wierd ass moves. I forgot to mention this earlier, but that a really good drawing by the way. I can't draw feet either, so i can't help you much.

Eddy and Yoshi? Holy, cow. I think that just might be him. Is Cal Poly Pomona near Chino Hills? His name is Qyon, his nick name is QDogg. He's black, wears glasses, and he's pretty big. There are some other guys who go to the same school as him. I think Shafi(one of the best players in the US) goes to the same school as QDogg. Shafi mainly uses Baek and Yoshi.

Pomona is right next to Chino Hills. It's only 10-15 minutes away from Fullerton. The guy i was thinking about is black, and he's on the big side. I don't remember him wearing glasses though. I don't know his name. He just kicks my ass, and i leave. I do remember someone else being really good with Baek and Yoshi too. He sidestepped a lot with Baek. |

Side steps a lot! YES! That's him! That's Shafi! Shafi's the Baek user that can side step like a mad man! He's, I think, a mix of Arabian, Vietnamese, or something like that. He looks like a cross between an asian, and a mexican, right? This guy can side step behind you before you know you're dead! He's like top ten in the US.
As for QDogg, he doesn't wear his glasses all the time, sometimes he wears them, sometimes, he doesn't. I guarantee you, that it's Shafi and QDogg that you're talking about. If you ever see them again, tell them that bj says hi. Although I'd probably see QDogg tomorrow.
Oh, yeah. I don't want to get too off topic, so if you want, go to http://electriccancel.com and http://tekkenzaibatsu.com . Check out the forums they have. These are Tekken sites where the best players in the US post. QDogg and Shafi are mods at TZ's forum, and Shafi and I are mods at EC. Later.
