I did this a little while ago, And I need some advice on how to make it look a little more complete. The colors bother me just a bit as well as her flesh tone. I'm pleased with the composition. If youhave any thoughts just let me know.
Special thanks to critical-depth for helping me post. you are a god send.

the only thing that looks strange to me is that houses are usually lined up in rows, but the chimney she is sitting on is tilted differently than the rest of them |

ok, a shift of the angle of the chimney seems to be in order.
Chapel- that makes total sense. I didn't see that. thanks for pointing that out.
and I'll fix her leg.
Justin- I like the sky too so I'll keep it.

this is really cool, especially given the pic of her in mid-air that you posted before, are you making a series? |

id maybe add some more highlights on her tummy. judging buy the angle of the sun based on the shadow. *shrug* and it looks like she only has one tit, in the centre. other than that im not too sure.
i absolutely LOVE the two in this series that ive seen so far, are they for a book? part of a story? i need to know! |

The edges are all too sharp, which throws the perspective off. Maybe just a bit of feathering, especially for the trees and mountains in the distance? Everything appears to be at the same level of observation, which loses sight of the main focus of the picture, the woman.
As regards the colors, too warm of tones for her skin. She shouldn't wear oranges with her skin tone, she appears to be more of a winter/spring, meaning more blue/purple/greens. That's a woman thing...

this is nice. i agree completely with justin. i like the flesh tones. there's something concerning her feet that's throwing me off a little, tho. they're either too small, or the color is too close to the rooftop colors.. or maybe the calves (or whole lower part of legs) are too short. some things are just so damned hard to spot ;] again, great job. |

Very cool, me likes.
One thing that I think might help is if you sorta decrease the impact of the background a bit. She really stands out against the sky but the lower half of her body (mainly that dangling leg) is sort of lost because it's fighting with the background for attention. Maybe just the slightest saturation or color changes will help that? It's not a big deal but for some reason I feel that dangling foot is important, hehe... I'm silly though

I'm trying to figure out what looks weird.. I think it might be that the sky is blending into some warmer tones and the lighting is actually too cool of a tone. Does that make sense? The skin tone is a little too pale in my opinion. Basically its kinda like have a sky from late afternoon on a setting from early morning. |

personally I kinda like how the colors are slightly 'off'. I've never seen a greenish-turquoise sky before, but hey--it looks cool.

the chiminey should be diagonal to match the other like the guy said.
as far as flesh tones try taking out the black and and adding a purple grey for the shadows |

My only complain is that her leg that's resting on the chimney is a bit too thick.
Oh, and maybe what Chapel said |

oh, me likes agent44. nice atmosphere to it. Maybe it could be nice to rotate the chimney a bit, to make it a bit less flat. THough, can still keep it flat on top, if you know what I mean ? Maybe a bit less shading and highlights on the sorroundings (like the rocks on the chimney and trees) would be nice ?...

wow! thanks for your input everyone. You've given me some really good ideas to fix this thing. Some I can't beleive I didn't think of, but now I can really see.
For those who asked, this really isn't for any particular project or assignment. I just like the subject matter, and so I revisit it every so often.

Something I would suggest....the warm colours really REALLY jump out of the cooler background. I'd try bringing some of that cool blue into the shadows of the figure and houses, and decrease the saturation of the distant houses, as someone else mentioned.
Overall, a very catchy pic!

Very nice agent. This is a very lovely series you got goin'. Can't wait to see where you'll take her next!
Some things to play with:
- the coulds which seems to be most far away have the sharpest detail - try softening the egdes on the clouds abit. Would make the distance feel less confusing between the two cloud 'layers'.
- You could try and remove the outlines on those elements that are not included in the foreground. Alot of illustrators use that to create even more depth.
- Rotate the chimney abit as before mentioned. Would help getting rid of the flat feel the the girl and the chimney now creates in unison.
hope this makes some kind of sense...
