There's also 2*bigger version available: http://www.lut.fi/~vthyyryn/files/death_highres.jpg
I think I've just had it with this picture. The amount of small details and new tricks I've tried out just kills me and leaves an dried corpse behind.
Point out any problems or other oddities you find and feel free to leave comments.
(p.s: just ignore that little "easter egg" if you happen to spot it )

Nice angel, Sarge. No crits except maybe the sword is to bright. Would be nice with a more metallic look, but that's just my opinion. I dont see any anatomy problems though. Looks good. It has a nice feeling to it.
Good work.

My first thought was that it didn't look much as a angel. But there is angels in hell as well...realy like it, but Tommy has right when it comes to the anatomy issue!(but I wouldn't be able to do it any bether my self!)
Anywayz....like it! |

It looks like his right shoulder is catching too much light, and that's bringing it forward farther than it should be. Either darken it a bit, or brighten his chest. Hmm. Actually, his right leg has the same problem - it's catching light that should be falling on his left leg as well, albeit from a different angle.
Otherwise it's a really cool design. I especially like the way you colored the cape and the clouds. It reminds me of something I've seen before.. maybe the Brom Heretic painting. Maybe not. Cool anyway. |

Wow, Norwegians are fast today!
The sword is supposed to be bright white, but yeah, it seems to be somewhat too white. I'll make it more "mundane" and metallic looking.
waylon:
I made a base colour of dark purple (almost black) on that armour. I'm definitely lighting up the upper torso and adding some detail.
Yup, Frazetta & Brom are definitely in top 10 favourite artists in my books. There's surely a pinch of Frazetta-influence in this one... but no way you can compare my work to his! |

I absolutely love the cloak.
I love the warrior.
But I feel they do not go well with each other. The color contrast is too stark, you may want to harmonize your colors. The purple is too intense. If you apply that great tan color from the cloak to the warrior's armor, and subdue that purple, everything will mesh much nicer.

Holy shit, you've done a fair bit to it!
I think the sword could glow ?! That might look cool. I don't know what else to suggest, i think it looks great.
Dark angels are good, go see mine in my post in this section if you feel like it, poo compared to this one but still... |

ah! i remember that pic from not long ago without the textures on the armor. nice move, man. looks much better. i guess what bothered before was that the cape looked more detailed. now it's much better. i think that adding textures to the legs and arms will help even more. maybe even texture to the blade.
and u can think about eyes in the black hood. corny, but works sometimes.

Painted Melody, neebhore, topeira, thanks for the feedback. I'll add texture to the legs, arms and the scimitar and I'll make that misty background a bit more interesting & detailed. And yeah, the colors need some balance, I'll try to find a nifty solution to that matter.
But not now. I'm leaving this of my back for a while (once again) and concentrate on something new.
Keep 'em comments flowing in.

Now, this is just a thought, ad it's totally up to you. I wouldn't add eyes inside the cape because eyes always say something. It appears to me that you are trying to make a mysterious character. However, it looks as if the character simply has no head. Maybe this is what you want, but if not, you might try adding a bit of highlight. No details; just enough light to show that a face does exist.
I modified you drawing really quickly, to illustrate. I didn't spend hours, so my change isn't exactly breathtaking, but it illustrates.
