So well. hello, my first topic in this here forum. Ive worked with my wacom graphire and photoshop for about half a year now, and need some constructive (!) critisism on my latest work. the guy in front needs some polishing, not sure how tho. it was made with a simple base made in 3d studio MAX, and the rest painted in PS.

Hi. Overall, the picture looks pretty good. I think what's holding the picture back the most is the composition. You've got the ship pointing off the left side of the picture, which draws the viewer's attention away from... well, pretty much everything else in the picture. Then, compositionally speaking, there's not much to tie the guy in to the rest of the piece.
Oh, and of course, it's always a bit unnerving to see someone out in space without a space suit on. And with his hair blowing in the wind. |

well, what do you suggest I should do about it? give up?
Im quite aware about the spacesuit issue, but you know, -in the future- we dont need that crap, and it will be windy out in vacuum. I _promise_.
As I said, Im not at all satisfied with the guy, and thinking about remaking him looking something like this here sketch:

but now I got all worried about the composition issue. help? |
