get rid of the blue leaf things, or just make them smaller.

Well, the whole misleading topic thing is a definite no-no, which may be partly why no one else has responded. But I checked out your design, and I like it- with a few reservations. The color scheme is good (blue is my favorite), but the wavy fin/leaf type things could be somewhat distracting. Also, the unused space underneath "Tutorials" is unnecessary- you can just end that shape there. But I'm not really design guy, so these are just my uneducated opinions. Good luck with your assignment. |

My two cents:
It's hard to comment on this. Frankly, I'm not liking it too much either. Well first off, I don't know about the baby blue color. It seems soo...monotonous with all the other blues(no other color to spice it up?). But that's only my opinion. Good designs need to connect together nicely. This is too cluttered, well, that's not the real problem, its just that everything is placed at random. There's no uniform to it. It's like you put on a ripple filter or something. These sort of things might be Ok in fine art, but in design, you need to make a clean, flowing layout. A child's scribble vs an artist's few but well place strokes illustrate the idea I'm trying to get across. For starters, make the borders of a constant width. You can still twirl them round and round, but having them varying in length just makes for some confusing distraction to what you want to present. Do that first, it should give it a more visually pleasing look. Next thing, I don't like the font:P

I don't see anything wrong with the design or colors.. but if you are going to make that into a webpage.. you might want to make the borders smaller... it seems like the design takes up a lot more room than the content. and its going to be hell trying to crop it up and design the html. unless you go frames... but that will still give you a very small content area. another thing.. the logo is pretty small.. how about making it a tad bit bigger? maybe span the entire inner circle? Just my two cents. |
