Here's right after I did a digital sketch of it with grey on black, and then applyed the scales with some texture:

Addition of the single eyeball, and use of overlay textures and colors for the scales.

Comments welcome.

Looks really neato!

What you should think about doing, to break up the monotony created by the texture, is to make many layers full of that filter texture and rotate them to make it look like it radiates from the eye

Then, erase every bit from the layer than you don't need over certain areas.

Right now, it all points in the same direction, if you can see what I mean.

This what you were talking about? I also added some bluring to give it more depth... his jaw seemed to be in the same plane as his neck, even though the highlighting is stronger on it. The rotating a motion blured texture is a GREAT idea, btw.

I think the yellow on the eye may be too cartoonish/claymationish, but I like it so far. I'm working on his suit now.

EDIT: Hated the yellow... like this better. Added the collar on the suit.

Muted the eye down, but added in little veins (it's kinda campy, but I'm going for campy at this point).

Dirtyed up the collar on his suit, and added some paint to his buttons. Put in a very uninteresting background to give him a place but nothing to really look at for the viewer.

Still working on the bottom of his suit now, and I MIGHT add something to the background, but I doubt it.

Crits and Comments welcome, as always.

Yah... his jaw is like, under his schnoz... or... he doesn't have a jaw. You decide.

And yes, I'm the Essobie from Toxy and Essobie. I'm also the Essobie from a great many other things:

Hey Essobie! I thought I recognized that nick. You've saved my virtual ass many a time with hud's and binds and whatnot over the years. Thanks!
