[Tyler Walpole]

Hello all, long time listener first time caller, love your show.

My name is Tyler, and I draw comics and interior B&W illos for the game industry. I don't do a whole lot of digital stuff yet (I'll be getting a tablet soon! ). But people around here seem to have a lot of good observations, and suggestions regarding art all around, not digital art alone. So I thought I'd post this pic to get some feedback.



This is the first pic I've done in quite a while that I'm actually nervous about inking. Which brings me to the question part...Anyone know of a good tutorial for digital inking that you could point me to?

Tyler, very nicely shaded.. looks really cool...

the teeth look wrong tho, specifically the right top corner tooth... and the tongue looks a bit odd... other then that I really like it

to people: if you can't see an image, like this one because the host doesn't allow it, or IE's loading bug -- left click on the red x, select properties and copy and paste its url. there.

now for this pic, pretty cool. the good thing about digital is you're free to go at it without wrecking anything. just create a new layer and experiment, there are probably some useful and less useful tutorials out there, but most has to be picked up by trying things out

Here's the final inks on this one folks. What do you think?

Strata- you're right about the teeth, looks like I shoulda moved the gumline up a bit on that side. I sure wish I could have read your post before I had to ink it...stinkin' deadline.
As far as the tounge goes...I thought it looked funny too, but I was the most convenient model I could find for this, and I swear that's what your toung does if you make a vampire hissing face. Okay...that's almost what it does, I flubbed it a little bit, cause I thought it looked even funnier as a big ball of muscle at the back of the mouth.

I already knew about that right click properties>copy>paste

It still doesnt work for me. Must be angelfire because it just loads that silly image hosted by, but this time in its own window when you do the above trick.

Collosimo-Here's a direct link to the pencils, and one for the inked version. Those should work for you, no?

Howsabout you other folks? Are the images showing up for you, or are you just getting that "silly image hosted by" thing?
