So this is the last of the main characters for the comic book. I guess now I'll probably be working on the bit-characters for the book.
His name is actually 24 (because he is the 24th robot-ish thing created by Zee). I really don't want to give anything away about this guy, because there is a ton of cool shit that will be going on here.
I will say that my concept led me toward a very specific body type. And early on in the drawing, it looked way too much like Calibretto from Battle Chasers. So my approach changed from "free-form robot design" to "make this not look like that". But I really like the way it came out. My girlfriend said to me when she saw it, "Oh, so since the kid made it that's why it looks like a huge toy." I stared at her blankly for about a minute......."Yeah, that's exactly why I did that." Note to self: Say it looks like a toy because it was made by a kid.
Man, you guys just don't know. There are some really cool surprises in store. Stuff that Randy the writer came up with and stuff that I came up with. I kept thinking, if there were a robot like this in a Terry Gilliam film, this is what it would do.
Anyway, the head is a direct nod toward "the-greatest-robot-comic-to-ever-disappear-from-the-industry"..... Scud: The Disposable Assassin.
Rob Shrab where are you?
Anyway, hope you like.
Matt

This is great.. actually the first thing I thought when I saw 24's head was SCUD.. ahh how I miss that comic.. But the rest of the robot has a great personality of its own, strikes me as a gentle giant, kinda thing.. but thats probably way off mark.
Just to make sure because I never did find out, SCUD didnt get past issue 20 did it?
Love to see the rest...

Thanks a lot guys.
Very good observation, BurnOut. Just wait till you see why.
As far as Scud goes, I checked out www.scud.com, and there is no new news posted. They do have an email address to Schrab, though. I had just given up on it. Tearily thumbing through my old issues.
