I am not sure about your lighting-
if the light would come from the cracks and stuff through the door then I think the walls left and right closest to the door should be darkest (no direct light, not much bouncelight)?
I dont think the bouncelight from the wall would be strong enough to make the reflection visible like that either... hmm
looks like a very interresting practice picture.. would be great if Frost or someone else could explain the lighting situation here.

Sorry I'm no good in lighting, but please finish it! Even with some lighting flaws I think it's gonna be a great picture.

certainly worth finishing off ...
Don't know about the look of the alien doesn't seem orginal 0=/
I have no idea on the lighting ..
But if light is coming through the bottom of the door ( and its that bright/powerful ) more of the floor would be light ,
and it also looks like the floor is refelctive, so light might bounce around a bit more ....
This is just from personal observation .. God knows if I'm wrong .

Sorry folks...I like the lighting, it's very dreamy and surrealistic. When your painting and you do the lighting a certain way... it's because you are expressing an idea, the "feal" of the pic is being expressed subconciously through your "bogus" lighting. I love it. It's what surrealism is all about man. Of course if you want this to be reeally real then yah you oughta consult one of the paint gurus...I just like it. FINISH! Definitely worth it man.

Trumpy really is magic! The alien looks a little too cute I think. He can't be the one that made those slashes in the door(unless he likes to attack with his great toes instead of his hands). :] Nice start though.

To me it looks like the floor was soaked in water.
A little too much reflective perhaps?
But i'm just a newbie. Don't even consider my thoughts as important =) |

looks fine. I think that you need to show the reflected light on the floor of the cracks near the bottom of the door. |

That's incredible.. the only thing I can think of that would have made it even more "symbolic" or just plain cool would be to have had the slashes in the door going outward instead of inward, as though the girl did it... also, I think most of you are right about the light, it should be cast farther across the floor, but other than that it looks great! |
