Finally got a chance to work on this again today. You may or may not have seen the last version of this, but there have been some major changes.

Getting the lighting pinned down has been a real pain. I think I got it though. Now I just need to add details, especially to the background.

Here it be -

The lighting is ok, on the figures at least - I would probably make the scene more intesting tho, your robot guys look far too simple and a bit scrawny. Add loads of debiris, stormclouds, lasers and chaos t the background and change your blokes after having looked at these guys mech drawings; http://www.dchiang.com/ http://www.artbyfeng.com/

Believe me Budoka, Feng and Chiang's sites are probably the two sites I visit the most besides this one.

The concept drawing for this one has quite a bit more detail. I just wanted to get the basic shapes and lighting in there.

Thanks a bunch!

You're doing great with the robots, but as budoka pointed out, the ground seems to have less light on it.

Also, the gunfire has a bit of an odd color, too neon for my liking. I'd like to see the sketch as well, your start is good checking things are proportionate, now start adding to it :)

More interesting ground would be nice, maybe something in the sky as well. WIP, as you said

Thanks for the reply Gecko. I'd post the concept sketch, but my scanner isn't hooked up at the moment. If you like, I can try to post it later.

Anyways - I went back and redid the ground. This just came to me all of a sudden. It's kinda cool when that happens.

As you can see I also lost that horrible muzzle flash, since it wasn't reall the color I wanted. Started on the small details as well, but I'm trying to keep this as loose as I can.

I plan to add a drop-ship or something in the background later, maybe that will be a good source for some back lighting.

Any more helpfull hints?
