Hi,

this is a picture I plan to colorize soon. As it is my current work in progress, I found it would be fun to propose it on the forum, if people want to give a try at colorizing it too.

I think I can provide an Hi-res version let me check !

Yep! eyes are problematic on this version as the scanning and smoothing process on photoshop has modified some liines. Thus the pupils are a little displaced.

A little problem to correct during the color process

Awetopsy : Yes, thanks for the praise! I really appreciate!

Just to give some feed back, here what I've done for the moment on the coloring. I worked especially the upper part for the moment. The purple trousers seems a weird choice now, Ithink I'll change that!

Did you use Adobe Streamline for the lineart? All the curves and corners look very Streamlined in the highres version...

It's a great fast way of converting rough art to smooth looking lineart, although the lines are a dead giveaway!

I'm not saying that it's bad, it's just very easy to spot lineart done this way...

That's pretty nice! Personally I'd try to vary a little in line weight and hue. Maybe try to do a more dynamic lighting. But that's just what I'd like to see, what you did is good already. Finish it.

Ko - In fact, I inked it first on paper then scanned it and slected all the black parts in Photoshop. Then I transpformed all the selection in path. Then I fill this path in black. That smoothes a lot all the glitches

The techniques work well but only with High definition and in that case, the definition was not good. This is why I need to correct eyes or details like that after. In fact, this is the only technique I know to get beautiful black lines after a scan. PErhaps I'm wrong with that technique!

Jaymo - Thanks a lot for the comment. I assure you I'll finish it as I like this character!

Also I really would like to do more dynamic lighting but my skills in Photoshop are far limited and I don't know any technique to do better than that. I hope to learn more on this forum though. ( Look at the "nunchaku woman" thread in "finished artworks". It shows what I can only do with coloring )

lostpapers -

Ahh... That is basically what Streamline does in one workflow. And you get a vector image that you can scale indefinately or convert to raster.

Good work! I like your drawing style.
