I just cant stend it. I practice and practice and practice, but can't get good results with markers. It looks to me that there is a part that is missing in my concepts. Yu can see them on my website. And this is my latest one. Whats wrong with it? Im not talking about design, just about use of markers.

yhea i agree, looks sweet. Only thing that catches my eye is the streaking in the background. I found it's much easier not to use marker paper. I just started using a photocopier and just drawing on the photcopy. It bleeds more but that is ok, since the marker doesnt pool up and you dont get alot of streaking. Plus you can fuge it up and not worry because you arn't drawing on the orginal drawing.

I use %10 %30, %50 ,%70 and black - thats all I've got. I also have one %30 Frech gray and %30, %40 warm gray markers. As stupid as I am I use acrylics for highlights, because Im lasy to go to buy some gouashe. But when I ran out of 30% cool gray I will have to go there eventually )

BTW: What is photocopier and photocopy paper? I hear people say that over and over again. But I just don get it.

I use paper from my inkjet printer for all my work. Guess I should reconsider...

This is looking pretty good. Now, there are a lot of "tricks" to get your drawing to look quick and concept-y. For one thing, don't be afraid to use quick lines. Use your elbow as an axis when drawing, not your wrist. This way, you'll get more aggressive and powerful lines. Also try to "feel" the material you are drawing - use hard, straight lines for metal....soften your lines for fur or skin. Line weight is very important.

Right now your drawing looks very shakey and unbalanced. Two main reasons: Your perspective is off. 2. Your line work feels too weak.

You might wanna take your time and plot everything out w/ a ruler. Use a none-photo blue and sketch everything out. Then go back and ink. Remember, just because a concept sketch may look fast, it might not be. When i was in school, sometimes it took me 3-4 hours to get a sketch done.....but the trick was to make it look like i only spent 1 hour on it. You'll get faster and faster as you gain more control and understand perspective better.

Anyways, i gotta get back to drawing. If time permits, i'll try to get a quick sample done for you.
