i'd suggest to define the wrinkles way more, the general idea is good, the places where you have set shadow/light are looking good to me, you might define his crotch and the outter edges a bit more, but overall you should define the folded cloth more, add sharper (not too sharp, its some kind of clothing after all) edges and breaks to it...dunno how to explain it without a pic...hope you get it. You may also add some kind of texture to your dress, like a fabric sorta thing with visible seams
hope this helps a bit
PS: dunno why u havent gotten any replys yet, but i don't get that many either

probably most people dont really know what your are trying to show us with this pic.
there are alot of anatomy issues. what is it supposed to be?
if you just want crits... then I would suggest making the shadows darker and your highlights lighter...

Ok, Im going to try and be honest. And gentle..
You need to practice some actual sketching.
Life drawing, anatomy, perspective, and the rest. |

Hey Hightop,
Don't get discouraged about it. What you really need to do is practice your drawing before you move on to painting. Without a good foundation in your drawing skills, no matter how well you can paint, your paintings will look like crap. Sounds harsh, but true. If you still want to continue practicing painting I would asking if someone would loan you an inked drawing and go from there. You can find some at this link.. http://www.comiccolors.com . Those will allow you to practice on some great lineart. Caution: The images there are rather large. I would suggest cutting out a small part of the download and practicing on that. Also take a look at Dhabih's tutorial on his homepage.
Hope that helps ya out. But do practice more on drawing at this point, painting will come soon enough. Ciao!
Here is the direct link to the lineart page for ya..Good luck!

Welp, I tried a little repaint. I gave up on that "Starcraftish Zealot" hand of yours, because it didn't fit too well if you wanted a construction type working dude and some sort of machine attached to his other arm. Anyway, his position sucks in mine. His butt is also misplaced, but eh. Hope you find this repaint useful. |
