Hey N8X

Wow, wicked designs, at first I didn't realize that his big arms and legs were parts of his suit and I was like hmmmm... but then I realized what was going on and I was like, whoa that's a wicked original design. Anyway kickass job, wanna see more!

Hey I really like that. I like the way the hand comes out of the suit and the arm on the suit extends with additional hands.

If I had a dollar everytime I wished my arms were longer...

im glad you ppl like this, i am trying to get a job at work as one of the game artists, so im trying to do some character stuff and do it fast. i work at acclaim now doing testing, trying to get my big toe
in the door so to speak.

the robotic arm is able to fold back to allow the user to use his real hand for tasks that require fine motor control or a sense of touch. The robotic hand is hard wired into the users nervous system ( got
the idea from M.I.T. - they hooked a monkey up to a robotic arm that mirrored its own arms movements!!

this might give you a better idea about how the arm works..

wicked: the reason hes not grabbing the handle is because i put it in last! :P You sound like a cs player!! You should stop by the Hardfought server and we could play a few rounds.. I'm Jimmy James Inc. in cs.

Hey nice design. You might want to think more about how the suit would be used in it's world. What am I getting at?

If the robotic arm is hard wired to the nervous system, then why can't it proform fine motor functions.

If the guy needs an extra arm, then just give the suit an extra set of arms.

If that's not an option, think about surrounding the mans hand with a small spherical VR chamber that can track the movements of hand from the wrist. You would then have to actuators and servos around the sphere. All this while still keeping it's ability to open for real hands on.

Great work man! ^_^ Keep going the way you are and you'll get the job.

steady:Glad to help. Just remember, In the world of ID (Industrial Design), no matter how crazy the design concept. You should always concider the logic of fuction and it place within the world you've created.(Sorry if I sound like Yoda)

I'm just sorry you had read my sloppy message.

Thats really cool looking.. my only problem is that the middle figure has two right hands...

its good tho.. and i like the concept farther down too..

oh yeah and if you wanna get into the art dept. go hang out in there for a while before or after work.. or on a reak and talk to the artists.. get to know them. then a little later tell them that you love doing concet sketches and stuff but be real interested in their sketches too. then show them some of your stuff. who knows you might just get a really sweet job!!!

If you do I want your first paycheck for this advice tho

good luck!!!

Here comes more...

I would think that the whole reason for connecting anything to ones nervous system, would be to give finite control over that thing. With the level of tech that your character is wearing, it's not too much to expect the hands of the extention to have highly sensitive sensors matrix. i.e, thermal and tactile inputs that mimic the human hand. You can always turn off the pain receptors or have them transfer the data in some other form, even just dual them, keeping the user safe.

I can't see the hardened game geeks of the world accepting an armored prosthetic that can't convey the delicate touch needed for a hair-trigger on firearm. Without that ability to give and receive data, you basically have two lumps lead on the end of two sticks.

If you want do great design and move to that next level, you have to see it from every angle. With all the prompting in today's world to think outside the box. Don't forget to think about the box itself.

Hey, I'm just offering some tools for the tool box.

Excellent Design. It already has most of what it needs to be a unique design perfect for a game.

thx for your input yamma, But remeber that the robohand is cotroled by the nervers so no need for any manipulaters or vr, also the robo hand doesnt have any nervers of its own so you wouldn't be able to feel anything hence the need for the real hand. But i'm always love input, keep it comming.

steady: testing is one of the ways alot of people enter the game biz.wether it works for me is yet to be seen! :P
