Hello there fellow Brad Pitt lovers.
Ok, Im not actually a Brat Pitt Lover, I do think he is a kick ass actor though.
Anyhoo, My sisters B-Day is right around the corner and this year I am doing paintings for everyones B-Day. Since my Sis L O V E S Brad Pitt, Guess who I am painting.
Tada
Brad Pitt
There are still some things to do before I start going in with smaller brushes and refining the detail. I think I have to thin his face out in the jaw aria and bring his forhead up a bit.
Ok Ill stop rambling....
With out Further adue..DDDDRRRRUUUUMMMM RRROOOLLLEEE
CLANK

Thanks yall

Blitz

I think you have to thin his face out allover!

He's got a very square face, and there's really no 'fat' on it anywhere seeing as he's a very fit person. Thus he doesn't have a very broad soggy face, but rather a blocky hard one, even though he does have some flesh in his cheeks.

Plus, if you look at his neck, on the right side you can see it start just behind the ear (it starts farther in in your pic) and on the left side it starts a bit farther in then yours. So I'd change that too.

Also his mouth should be wider (i think)

Not that I think that you should listen to me, since I'm here asking for anatomy help myself and don't really know anything about it, but it's just my overall impressions.

Hey
Ill listn to you.
Yah, I saw alot of that too. I think alot of it will be more clear when I get around to using the smaller brushes. The bigger ones did make him look a bit puggy.
Its funny you mention the neck. I have been working on that, I think I really need to bring that entier right(his left) side of his face in. That would fix alot of the problems I think

Don't know why I did this. Thanks Joachim for the idea of doing a painted cartoon. Never tried it before, but it was fun.

Blitz, his head is turned at an angle. See the nose and the distance from the edge of the eye socket to the edge of his face? They are very different on each side. This is something you want to exaggerate instead of underrate. Also check the angle of the mouth. Really look at the shape of the face and what that is telling you about the form of the skull.

Ah well, nice pic spooge (doesn't it get kinda boring to hear that after a while?)

Blah did this a while ago but didn't want to post it because I did it from a photo reference and I don't consider that 'real' art But I figure hey it's a Brad Pitt thread so might as well.

I just shot juice outta my nose and all over my keyboard laughing at Spooge. Ouch.

Hey Blitz. I'd be curious to know your sisters reaction to Craig's version. Maybe post after her birthday?

Good luck with yours

I know It doesent help much. But I am very new at picking the right colors. This has however given me a better understanding of what kind of combonations you can use to create skin tones.
I understand exacly what you are talking about Fred. If it means anything it does drive me nuts as far as I dont trully apreciate the pic as much as I would if I had picked all the colors by hand. This method makes it quick to give to my Sister for her B-Day. I wouldnt normaly choose the quick method but I have to much school work to wory about first.

Thanks all.
Thanks to Spooge as well. With out his help I would have never had my first thread with over 20 posts
Just teasing you spooge.
