So here's character #3 for the comic book. Johnny.
I REALLY like this picture, because it came out very much like what I intended it to be. I was picturing the scene as that he was walking along.... and suddenly drew his gun while spinning around. The triangles that are near his face is a targeting system that we invented that switches on as soon as the gun is drawn.
I left his eyes kind of blank because I wanted to remind myself that it would be a great place to use color. I will also be doing something like a tattoo on his arm. I haven't decided what that will be yet.
Also, something the equivalent to speed-lines in the background would help accentuate the action of the scene. But since this is mainly just another character design, that'll be added in the final piece.
I based his face on a great French actor named Vincent Cassel. He was in La Haine (Hate), Dobermann, Messenger, and few other films that I haven't seen. Watch Hate and Dobermann if you ever get the opportunity. Hate has gratuitous hip-hop and breakdancing mixed in with an amazing story, while Dobermann has inventive action and camera tricks from a former animator, Jan Kounen.

I really love this one! I think it's my favourite of yours yet.
The pose is so sweet, and I like how you draw male bodies - he's not buff, but rather slenderly muscular. Just the way I like them
Only complaint I might have is that his hands are REALLY huge. Heheh, on the other hand, you know what they say about guys with big hands and feet...

I like this one much more than the other two. Which is not to say the others weren't as good, they were great, and Johnny is even better. He has so much more personality, attitude, and style. At least, that's what I think.
Those boots were made for walking! |

I'll try to make my replies less involved this time...
Rage-lion:
Thanks. We're not sure when the book will be released (since we are pretty much working in it all between two of us, and the colorist--when we find one). But anyone on this forum will be the second person to know.
Enayla:
Thanks. You said, "I like how you draw male bodies - he's not buff, but rather slenderly muscular. Just the way I like them."
You're hitting on me. Aren't you. (I had to look in the forum FAQ on how to make a smiley face)
SlightlyTwisted:
Thanks. I wanted to make him kinda look like a motorcycle rider (with some influences of Tetsuo from the Akira comics).
Strata:
That was exactly what I was thinking. Or big rings and big socks.
Spiritual_Chaos:
I have a tendency to draw exaggerated hands and feet. I have never been able to shake it. But I will shrink 'em down when I do the final image. And thanks.
Sergenth:
Thank you. I love designing shoes and boots. There are so many possiblities.
More to come.....
