Well this is really my first attempt at line art with my Wacom. Why an orc? I don't know, I've never played Warcraft. I used no reference at all. Just wanted to try some line art and this is the first thing that came to mind.
(He's leaning against a cliff)
I'm new to line art, so I wasn't sure if I should draw all the details if I'm going to color it anyway.
Any comments, crits, or pointers are appreciated.
{Edit: bah... spelling who needs it)

Nice beginning.
I think you could work a little on proportions.
Especially right hand.

The weapon? Who knows, I'm going to change that. I guess that's what I get for not playing Warcraft.
Eish, now that I look at it this morning that right hand is awful. I'll fix it. =)
Nex: I think it's the womanly legs. =)

Looks pretty good so far Loud. As Andy'Ba said the proportions need a bit of work. Also, the strap that runs down to his waist seems curved the wrong way. Because of the way he is standing it should be curved the other way.
Which brings me to my next point, and I mean no offense. Maybe it's just me but this guy looks like a snooty wuss. I've always thought of Orcs as rather mean dudes.
You allready know about the legs.
Can't wait to see the finished version! |

Hey OK, OK already. I get it I'm no pro at Orcs! =)
I just imagined this guy being more of an itelectual thinker (hence the pose and face), so he's not so big and brutal. I've been by Blizzard's site just to see how they should really look and I think I'll draw a meaner orc in the BG when I get the time. I've got a new web site to get up. =)
Thanks for the comments tho. |
