The other day I started a new character on EverQuest (Many of you know I was addicted), but I only played for 2 day at about 15 minutes each time. I bought the game from a friend for $15 never opened... got bored... sold it for about $40. And once I find my CD to my old account a friend is willing to buy it from me for $45... That's a game-oholic.

No I use to be so addicted to the game and now I'm just bored with it and then I find people willing to pay up to 3 times as much for a used account with no characters on it. It dawned on me that I wasn't that bad off. I just played too much.

It's time consuming. To get anywhere or do anything you have to be a higher lvl. It took me about 6 months to get 3 characters over lvl 20. But they were highly skilled in many skills like jewelry, smithing, flecthing, baking, pottery, sewing, fishing, sence heading, etc. And they were decked out with a lot of money and cool gear. NO I WAS NOT TWINKED! Once you quit it and see how much of a life you don't have when you play it's not the same when you play again. My character was to get married, but I deleted her before I had the chance... It's a cool game and it was fun. Just time consuming, and I like having friends and doing stuff outside, and working with my art.

I sold a lvl 50 something this summer for about $1000. Just look on Ebay for how much EQ stuff is going for. My B/F sold a character for $700 the other night, and I have a friend that that's how he's paying his way through college (making bad grades though because he spends all his "study" time playing).

I'd never pay a dollar for 100 level human paladin even :p
Why would you buy a game anyway only to play the last 'boss' level and skip the good 90% of the game?

Of course you wouldn't spend that much on a lvl 100 human paladin... Duh there's no lvl 100 it only goes to 60! And it's not about playing and beating bosses... you play with other players and there's more than just fighting. You have quests which can take any where from a few hours to a few months, trade skills you can advance in and guild raids... which are fun. You can also PK (but you can only kill other PKs and you have to be a PK) and duel other players <- really fun never lost a duel.
You can use your higher lvl character to twink lower charaters or to do better on quest.

Sony is going to be releasing a lot of new MMOGs ("massively multiplayer online games" if you diddn't know). Planetside and Star Wars Galaxies look pretty fun. Not sure if I like the concept of paying for it every month. |

EverQuest was only $10 a month for the online fee. Not that bad. Maybe the new ones will be cooler. And dial up modums suck when you're playing them.

the only thing motivating you to access higher levels and harder enemies in Diablo is greed...greed for better items, money, and exp...
then all of this so-called "gameplay" is taken into the multiplayer realm...no wonder so many people get PKed and crap...
(edit) allthough it is pretty fun single player where you don't have temmates bitching about you hogging all the items and gold
