Hiya, This is my first model in maya. I did it with subdivision surfaces after converting it from my first attempt which was in nurbs(thanx to the recomendations of someone in the forum- i forget who...) its been a learning experience...
anyway, any crits on anatomy?
after i perfect the shape i will try and map it(another first in maya)

The ears appear to be placed a little high, though i have a friend who has them even higher... And you should try to get rid of that bulge around the (invisible) seam on the forehead (i guess it's from the symmetry-modeling). And the neck looks odd, but i assume you're not done with that yet...
Apart from that it's very neat modeling, looking forward to see a textured version... |

looks like a good start.
it suffers largely from the "hi i m a 3d model" syndrome which is usually due to a restrictive flow of geometry. Post the wireframe so we can see what is going on. (go to the window's panel and clcik on shading>shading options>show wireframe on shaded, then take a screen shot)
and show some orthographic views too so it is easier to see what the model looks like.

Thanx for the feedback. Jaymo u were right about the ear, ive now lowered it as well as tweaking other bits a bit more. Im not sure about the seam, i think it was just my stoopid lighting and yeh i havent even looked at the neck yet...
heres some different veiws and a wireframe thingy as requested by zeebit.
any other feedback would be great, ive been looking at it so long that i dont see all this stuff, so thanx

the ear is a little small and needs to be just a little lower. the stuff under the nose(lips, chin) should be moved back just a little. i would round the chin out a bit.
pull the eyes down a little, but leave teh brow there. push the back of the jawbone by the ear forward a little. might want to accentuate the cheekbone a little as well.
have fun yo.
beware of the triangles...

oh yeah, and raise the lower eyelid up a little so it doesn't look like he just ate a bug.

ok.... i changed it(tho very subtly), i dont know if ule be able to tell the difference.
I fixed the ear i think... zeebit was right about moving the jaw forward and lowering the eyes, i did that, tho i might lower the eyes a bit more....
I disagree about moving the mouth and chin back tho, i think ill leave them. And i think a pointy chin is more attracive. (might move the top lip back...)
And i've been wanting to make more defined cheek bones from the start but it never seems to work...
I think ill leave it for a few days now, i wont even look at it and ill come back and i might be able to see the problems. As i was saying before ive been looking at it for too long... Ive done this before and come back to something hideouse(i just couldnt see it before) but i hope this isnt the case
anyway, more critisism from anyone would be appreciated. Thanx a lot.
