I hope this fits into the forum;
I've been wondering about the color scheme of a 3D character that I've been modeling on and off for some time. I did several quick tests in Photoshop (multiply and overlay over an old testrender) and now I can't make up my mind, so I thought I might turn to the artists here.
I want her to look wild but not too fierce (she's a bountyhunter or scout of some sort). Think Deunan or Kusanagi from Shirow's Appleseed and Ghost in the Shell mangas.
I would like strong colors on her but I'm also afraid of overdoing it so she won't fit well into any composition.
Please don't let the quality of the paintjobs influence you...I painted her really fast using sloppish masks :/
The tattoos are only temporary.
I also added the base render in case anyone want to paint an own version (heck, you never know...)
I'd be grateful for any suggestions.
Wow, almost forgot the link:

I dig the white scheme, and the yellow top/blue bottom--purple/reddish orange works well too--great job!

personally I like the blue/yellow one or orange/yellow one the best.. The green pants looks too cliche and the others look.. uh.. wierd.
I don't like the tatoos though.. looks like some kind of indian warpaint which I don't really feel fits her.. and the orange hair makes her look a bit like a 21th century Pippi Longstocking (if thats her name in english)..

I was just about to write "whee, at least 2 replies!" when the third came
Personally I like 3 (lightgreenish/blue) because its not too funky but still a little wild and 5 (lightgreenish/orange) because it looks fresh.
Think I'll go for 3 since 5 might be too Leeloo from 5th Element. Or Pippi Langstrmpe, LOL. Well, that's what she's called in Norway
So then, off to texturing. Thanks for the replies!

I think the last one's the best. It matches the best and kinda makes her look delicate. |

I kinda like the red pants.. I like many of the others too, but maybe some of them are a little too funky for a bountyhunter. Unless she hunting down people on a disco, then...
You are one very good artist. Keep it up.

Thanks guys
But honestly...white?? That was just the base b/w render withouth coloring (except for the skin)! Wasn't meant as an alternative but was for anyone who wanted to paint over themselves

Yah. I really perfer the white with blonde hair. It's becaue white really copliments a more pale flesh tone (i think). Anyway, if you don't like the wthie one, the one with the green pants is the second best IMHO |
