(video game related)
im in the process of completing a tutorial that rorshach wrote on how to skin a head.
http://www.utskins.com/Tutorials/roc02.htm
of course, my skin and his skin are very similar in style (besides the fact that mine is shit, and his is good)
im just wondering will i get crucified for posting the skin when im finished? people seem very sensitive towards thieving...especially when its done by a newbie posting a piece of shit.
anyway heres a work in progress pic, any comments, or observations?

I think it could use more detail, and I mean subtle detail. But since this is a WIP I guess that's coming later.
Rorshach seems to be a lot bolder with his shadows. They are still mid tones, but his are committed. Take the plunge and make some soft shadows under the cheeck bones, on the bottom of the nose, etc.
Bring the teeth out a little bit more. Not a lot, but somewhat. That's my favorite part.
If that was a quake 3 model, I would paint the eyes black and the mouth a continous shade of white (no teeth). I would paint the eyes and teeth on a seperate image. Then I would use shaders to make the white eyes and teeth appear to be throbbing in and out.
I don't know if you can do that in UT or not.
Heh, just rambling |
