Looks good. Reminds me of one of your last pieces, Death, but is significantly better than that. I especially like the sense of depth in this one.

Faust : I've never heard of such a book, or language.

Bugscratch: Yup, you've got me. I'm rather blunt when coming to naming my 2d pics - I never put enough thought into that. They don't deserve a good name anyway.

I like this pic alot, its very moody as you say, it does have a good sense of depth, maybe to show the depth alittle more you could sharped up this nearest tree??
Maybe add a few more branches??

looks pretty cool man, has that tim burtonish surreal thing about it. Are those figures or lights down the path? if they are figures there style remind a litle of the guy who painted the scream, ed vard munch i think.

Hey everyone

Thanks for the replies - I took my picture and a couple of your suggestions, and then "cleaned" it up just a tad. Nothing major, unfortunatly, it might just be wasting your bandwidth, but hey, here's the new version.

Shijima : Well, the trees are dead. And it's the valley you walk through after you die. So there will be no dead people, naturally. Just souls.

Cos : A very keen observation Thanks. I never looked at them as figures, but now that I do ... they actually do look like figures

Nice balanced feeling here! Atmosphere is very intense.

Somehow this picture makes me want to turn my monitor clockwise about 10 degrees. Maybe the setting on this makes illusion of falling to left? (the road?)

But that might not be a bad thing. Put a deep canyon on the left side of the road and I would be scared of falling into it
