Here is something I just finished. This pic was a pain. Not the greatest, but I thought it looked neat. By the way, I just colored it I didn't draw it for those of you just tuning in.

Well that is certainly bizzare to see a chapel post without a comment, what'z happening dude. The colours in the image are good but I think some of your other colour works recently have been good (I've been around a little lately but just haven't had time to comment). Maybe it is the line work that you aluded too... not sure why. I mean, MAD's stuff just seems like it would be easier to do.
Some of the lines just seem to black (the art work ones) and doesn't all the colour to get a 'flow'. Some of the sections don't look completely finished and like you've just quickly gone over with an airbrush. In particular the fireball hand and the 'square' firecracker explosion bits. I'm also not sure why but I don't think the green and black background works with the reds and yellows/oranges.
Still, having said that I like the job that you've done.

After all the comments you've been telling everyone and all the help you've given, the least I could do is give you a lil reply.
I TOTALLY dig the image. The colors look really good if you ask me.
I've seen most of your stuff that you've posted here and its obvious that you're getting better and better with every post.
Keep up the nice work

Chapel,
I can easily see how this picture would have been a nightmare to color. Excellent work (as usual) though!!
You've proved a constant source of inspiration. I love your style and your work. And I think it's real cool that Joe Quesada himself got in touch with you.
Looking forward to more work from you. |

Teehee! I like this! Really good use of colours. You've must've put a lot of time into painting this!
I like the Batman colourings you've been doing lately better, though, but that doesn't mean this isn't great

Thanks for the kind words. Especially you Enayla cause well.. your female.. and this is my post so I can say all the cheesy things I want.
I'm scrapping this pic though. I'm going to redo it tomorrow. I'm not happy with it and I know I can do better.
And yes.. those were supposed to be fireworks. |

that looks really great.. the thing with fireworks is they dont just illuminate the immediate area, they have a huge light... sphere around them... although it does sort of work like this.
i like the picture the way it is, only thing i'd suggest changing is getting rid of 2 of the green fireworks and making them different colors. One of the complements of red is green, so that was a good choice, the legs are a yellow/orange, the compliment of orange is blue, and the compliment of yellow is violet.. so those are 2 of the colors I'd consider for the background fireworks. Dont forget, not all fireworks are solid colors
great work
