Hi again!
This time i'm working on a druidess (is there such a word?) which will be entered in the gfx compo at a demoparty held over here..
1. I need suggestions on what to add to make it look better. Anything you can think of...
2. The haircolor is bothering me, what do you think?
3. The necklace REALLY needs to be redone but i don't know what it should look like, has anyone got any examples?
see you! |

whats really bothering me is the hair, try giving it some more life. it looks to big and chunky, try adding more strands going in the same direction, but not in the same path. (does that make sence?)
and i think its just druid.

yop.
here are some thoughts.
she looks kind of stif. maybe it's the pose or just.. well i dont know.. it looks like the wind is blowing only not. like she has been caught in that pose of a while
maybe you should change the enviroment around here. you see i think the landscape looks kind of still.. ad some blowing grass or something. (just a thought)
but i do like the coloring..
your geting better.

I'll continue working on it with your things in mind...
and zthee, the stiff pose is intentional..
and you're damn right about blowing grass, i better add that..
the_monkey: yes, i need to put more energy on the hair...
Now, the only thing i need now is some advice on the necklace....

You should also keep in mind that the feathers on the birds are individual units. It you look at the tail on yours, it's one solid piece.
The face looks nice although a bit cartoony, I'm not sure if that's what you are going for though. Generally speaking, a person's eyebrows are going to be the same color as their hair (unless it's dyed). Right now her eyebrows look like black lines, which makes it somewhat unnatural. Go for the darkest shade of her hair color, not the lightest
I think that also, if that large chunk of hair wasn't waving around in front of her neck it would look more realistic. I have hair past my waist, and I can tell you right now that having it blow around in front of me isn't something I tolerate, I quickly whip it back over my shoulder - she prolly would too
Hmmm... what else... *scratches her head* The background could use a little something but I don't know what. One thing to keep in mind when creating a composition is that symmetry can be a bit ho-hum. Right now the horizon line divides the picture in half horizontally and the girl divides it in half vertically.
I think the bg colors you chose are quite lovely, and I really like the girls face - her lips in particular.
I'd like to see this when you're done. Hope the crit is helpful

Hey Tyron, if you don't like the hair then change it. You've mentioned a couple of times that the hair bothers you so why leave it the way it is?

the word is indeed druidess.
try for more definition on the bird's feathers. even on the breast you should see that it's a thick LAYER of feathers. maybe puff out the breast a little more too, and shorten the body... |

as for the necklace, y not make it something with runes all over it? she IS a druid after all
edit: i made a new pic for u which is better than the first one i made.
