Hi all,
I recently moved and left my disket for my ARTPAD II tablet at home. So, I saw some generic wacom drivers online (that include support for the ArtPad II) Anyways, I try to install those and they won't install because it can't find my tablet connected to my machine. (It's USB, and I know it is connected because it does work without the drivers)
But the problem is, I get no pressure sensitivity! It sucks, all my latest works have been done with mouse and TBH it's boring, long and tiresome after all these years of using it.
So, to make it short -- I have an Artpad II tablet, and when I try to install the generic Wacom driver (which includes support for this) it will not continue the install because it says it cannot find the tablet connected. (And it is connected because the damn thing does work, just no pressure sensitivity)
So maybe someone can tell me, where I can get just a pressure sensitivity utility without having to download the whole driver? or maybe has a link to the driver that came bundled with the Artpad II? (I know that one works because it is the same one that worked on my other machine)
Any help would be appreciated. Mouse is getting tiresome. Thanks! |

Thanks.. but those are the drives I tried.
I just tried again, I plug in my tablet (USB) and it says like USB Device/Tablet found.. and then, I double click on the driver setup.. and then when it asks 'Is this USB or Serial?' I click on serial.. then it asks if the light is on or off.. I click on and it says 'Sorry the device is not found, cannot continue setup' and if I go back and click 'off' it says the same thing.
The same problem I've been having.. tablet works and stuff, just no pressure sensitivity.. and this driver is not picking up my pad even though it is compatible with it. SIGH |

Hi there,
I'm not sure why you are not seing this yourself but in your first post you say :

(It's USB, and I know it is connected because it does work without the drivers) |
And in your second you say this :

and then when it asks 'Is this USB or Serial?' I click on serial.. |
Maybe your problem is there ??

the sensitivity can't be altered depending on the program you have? ex: on adobe you can make it pressure sensitive or not...
-----just a thought 8) |

yes it was a typo, I clicked USB hehe.. and I've tried Serial too in hopes it would work!
First system is 1.2ghz Athlon WinXP 500 something ram
Second system 750mhz Athlon Win2000 256ram
Get same problem with both, only one other usb device on both.. is mouse.. have tried switching ports too.
Remember, the pen works and stuff with default windows drivers.. But I have no pressure sensitivity.. and if there is a way to set it up in Adobe could someone tell me?
Or rather, is there a standalone utility that lets you run pressure sensitivity? Argh! |

I hate to be a bitch, but you also forgot what size psu you have.
Incase you don't know what a psu is, (you seem to be a little uh..less knoldgable then some people) its the power suppy. The box usually in the top lefthand corner of your computer case. Its where the plug goes.
Anywho, if you don't have it written down somewhere and you'd like to check, pop open your computer case. It should be on a sitcker somewhere on the box where the power goes in.
Then before you come back and say its not, check again, sometimes those sneaky men hide it on the underside.
The number you'd be looking for would be the wattage (w).
sorry if I've been rude, just trying to be helpful and assist you on your journey to becoming a super computer doing man. |

mouse on first machine is Microsoft Intelli Explorer thing (the real fancy grey one with lots of buttons and a red / lazer underbelly) and it is USB.
The mouse on the second machine is also USB, it's a Microsoft Explorer mouse but not the fancy version like the one above.
Same error in both machines, and I have no USB device conflicts or anything..
Tablet works in both machines, just no pressure sensitivity.. and I can't install those generic wacom drivers. It won't let me continue the install because it can't find my pad.. /shrug. It's there. |
