Yeah, the Columbia College in Chicago has an excellent Animation program. You can visit their site at www.colum.edu

Good luck!

2d or 3d? Concept Art/Character Design? 3d Model Building? Traditional or Computer?

These will help us find a answer to better suit your needs.

I'm basically looking for schools with everything....LOL; 2D and 3D would be nice, as would schools with both traditional and computer animation....What I hope to do eventually (and this is a BIG eventually, hopefully) is do character designs for videogames and maybe even work on animated projects; cartoons, feature-length films, etc. Any more help would be smashing!
Thanks All!

CalArts is supposedly one of the best, though I have mixed emotions about the school personally. Still, if you're concidering animation schools (accredited, right?) then you should at least check them out. They only accept portfolios once a year though, and I think the cut of time is pretty soon, so if your interested act fast.

For those that don't know... Sheridan is changing its 3 year classical only animation program into a 4 year classical/computer combined program starting next year.

I've heard some negative things about CalArts and Odis. I would really try and specify what you are looking for more. Saying that you eventually want to do concept design and art for games and movies is a noble persuit, but is completly different than working in 3d and even more different than working from traditional 2d animation.

Are you interested in the animation aspect? The character concepting aspect, more illustrative approach? 3d modeling?
