6x8 works fine for most people, but if you want to find out if it's worth it, find out the retail price first.
Or some other places that sell it.

Haaa!
It's you who produces art, not the tablet.

On the other hand Craig Mullins DOES use a Golden tablet..

I think there are a few questions you should ask yourself to find the answers to the standard Wacom / tablet questions.

Brand/features
1. Are you :
---A: an accomplished traditional artist with a very refined touch ?
---B: a beginner/amateur, both in traditional and digital painting/sketching ?

If you answer A you should probably go for the Wacom deal, if B is your answer you you would (read:should) be more than happy with a less expensive (100US$-150US$ depending on size) alternative, to call it a good deal.

Tablet size
2. When you sketch/draw/paint do you :
---A: use your whole arm to draw, and generally draw large drawings (A4 and up) ?
---B: like to draw small, using mostly your wrist for the lines ?

This second question should give you the pretty obvious answer that if you are in the A category, get a big tablet, and if you're in the B category, you would be happy with a smaller one.

... and finally, when in doubt, Always remember that "the tablet question" is one of the most asked questions here, and you'll be able to find a ton of previous advice by using the search feature in the top right of this window. Just enter "tablet" or "Wacom" and search in the discussion forum, and ye shall find. Nobody likes a lazy Digitalist ...
