Just saw a teaser ad on Nine for the Dinotopia mini series. Remember this being praised a few months back, and Danny did work on it, so Aussies must keep their eyes peeled. @:-)
It's usually a fortnight before it starts when they show teasers, so give or take. |

Cool, thx Brain... I'll keep a look out for it. Danny? I have forgotten who that is.
Btw, on a side note. Do you think QANTM is good? I know you graduated from there recently. I'm considering all my options and was just wondering what your opinion of the multimedia degree is? did it get you a good job? Any help would be really appreciated. |

Ian: QANTM... hmmm. I think you'll be hardpressed to find someone that did the courses that'll say it was a great course. I did the Games diploma, but I knew Multimedia people and their opinions were pretty much the same. Which is a pity, because QANTM could be something pretty grand.
Positives - You were surrounded by people interested in the same field as you were, and you get to work with most of them; most lecturers know what they're going on about and are generally cool; what you do learn is pretty interesting; QANTM is a known facility, and hence attracts people in the industry wanting to check out student work and potentially hire.
Negatives - Lecturers come and go due to higher ups and apparently bad pay (by mid-year, I had one lecturer I started off with, and he left not too long after mid-year); organised classes are few and far between; you expect better out of the $7000+ you put into it (no HECS).
Granted, this comes from when I was there, 2001, though I've kept in contact with people doing various courses there as well as a lecturer or two, and opinions haven't changed too much. I don't like treading it down, but unfortunately QANTM has a fair bit to do to become less like a business and more like an educational facility.
If you ever want to do a Cert IV in Assessment and Workplace Training though, I highly recommend theirs, taught by Sue Kieseker. Top notch lecturer! @:-) |

Thx Brain, I had a feeling it had some problems. I want a place that will really push me and inspire me, yet there just aren't any really innovating places in Brisbane. I mean really infront of the cutting edge. Thats where I want to be.
ah well... Thankyou for the info, much appreciated. |

Just saw an ad on TV post Out of Sight (I'd forgotten how good Jennifer Lopez looks *sighs*) from Video Ezy promoting Dinotopia "only at Video Ezy". I'll try to get there tomorrow and see what the low down is.
Still no further word on Nine's coverage... |

I took an art lesson from James Gurney when I was a younger lad. Seriously. |

They're advertising 7:30.
Monday nights are going to be pretty filled now. Dinotopia, 24, Media Watch, The Fat, and Band Of Brothers. Thank god Friends and The Ozbournes finished their season runs last week. |

Heh heh, I've had to work most Monday nights, so I still haven't seen Band of Brothers.
Really though, I only see Daria on Thursday, 24 from time to time, Crank Yankers is a latest addition (it's so wrong in so many ways, which makes it good @:-) There's just very little on TV that still entertains me. |

I'll have to make sure I catch the series then - what part was Danny involved in?
I saw Band of Brothers for the first time Monday and thought I had come in half way through a movie - very slick. |
