I had a fine art education, graduated and then spent 25 years doing other things before getting back to art... Now that is all I do. ![](images/smiles/icon_cool.gif) |

I'm going to art school right now. I'm a senior illustration major at RSAD. It's a four year BFA program. |

I received a BFA at Pratt. A lot of young artists, especially in the computer game industry ask if it was worth it. They usually are considering no continuing education or a 2-3 year 3d graphic program. I always insist that the broad art foundation classes alone make a full 4 year program worth it. Pratt offered 3 years of life drawing, color theory, lettering *and* typography (2 seperate courses) ceramics, jewelry design, forge (welding, not fake money), art history, graphic design, etc.
After graduating, I learned PS and Max. |

Two years at tmcc.
Not prestigious, but cheap, and it had good instructors.
No student loan to pay off, baby. |

I did 2 years at an art school here in New Zealand, and discovered my true hatred for Arte. I then quit art school and have since been working as a web designer while hunting for a job as a game artist. |

second year at ECIAD www.eiciad.bc.ca and lovn it, I have had a ton of private art classes by an ex disney animator and his sis since I was about eight and that helped lay down the fundamentals hard and fast.
I am a Interdisciplinary media major and do mostly film and graphics but still go back to comic book and sequentials every now again to keep up the skills for story boarding etc.
I as said above totally recommend classical art classes as I took them in my foundation year and apply what I learned from those lessons on a day to day basis now. |

No art formal art education for me.
Too busy having to work and pay bills!
Although I've worn down thousands of Prismacolor pencils over the years!
And lately a few tablet nibs! |
