Hey everyone,
I recently got a digital camera from my buddy (Sony DSC-P7), but he doesn't have the software CD anymore.
Can anyone reccomend a good piece of software that should work with this camera? Will Photoshop do it?
I'd appreciate any input you guys could offer.
Thanks! |

Have you tried searching for drivers from sony's site? Even photoshop can't import the images if you don't have the drivers... |

You don't need drivers with most newer computers, just plug it into the USB port and it gets mounted as a drive you can copy or view the jpeg files from.

If it uses the compactflash cards, just go to your nearest Office Supply store (like Staples) and spend about $20 on a compactflash reader. If you have XP, just plug it into the USB port and it shows up as a drive that you can drag and drop from just like any other drive. On earlier OPs, you simply need to install the included drivers. On a Mac, have no idea.
If it uses some other storage system, then you can probably download the drivers from Sony's digital camera site... they gotta have one for support, right? It's Google search time...

Compact flash card readers are extremely useful. I use mine for my mp3 player and camera and you can buy flash cards and use them for storage. They're better than having a lead for your camera anyway.

Thanks very much everyone. I run XP, so in theory I shouldn't have any problems.
I appreciate the advice! |
