I found this picture and I'd really love to know how the artist did it. Yes I've been trying to find out who the artist is but the web site shown at the bottom of the pic is a broken linked site.

Anyone have any ideas? How would you do I picture like this. One that isn't a snap shot of a real photograph. Was it done in a 3D program, do you think?

Any help would be great!
Thanks

Looks like a lot of paint-overs from different images and a touch of "Matching the lines".

Nice image. If they really did paint it, they were probably at a huge picture resolution for the image, then just shrunk it down to what you see. Making it hard to see the brush strokes that the person used.

For the one of the best examples at tradtional style/looking digital painting, check out www.goodbrush.com

i think its a paint over too. Sorry if it isn't, but if the artist was talented enough to paint such great faces, why would he have made the grass blurry and the mountain detailed? Doesn't look right.

when you look on the background you can see that is composed from parts with diffrent sharpness (right part of hill is very blurry while the left top very sharp) . It was obviosly constructed from photos. I got no doubts that the rest of the pic was made the same way.

Anyway i think this artist is a hot babe.

The artist's name is Wendy Smith. I did a whois on the domain to find her name, and then Googled it. You can see more of her spectacular work here:

And yes, I'm being sarcastic. Eww, what gross "art".

yea... definite paintovers... What's odd to me about the pose above is that... if the guy was really holding her by the back of the neck and under her knees, her butt would be sagging way down... way down... unless of course rigor mortise had set in after she'd died sitting in a chair...

very true..
in the picture we see the man holding the woman, but it seems to me that holding her neck can easy break her neck. unless she is straightening her neck while he is holding her.

its def a paint over. see that mountain in the back if you look closely you can see part of the naboo palace still there, now tell me if im wron, but wasn't the naboo palace on a cliff jutting out in the middle of nowhere with no fields around it. and all parts of the image have diffrent resolutions.
