Has anyone ever created a action that will change the brightness of the current color in the color picker?
Basically..this could be used for doing painting in photoshop where you wanted to use a slightly lighter or darker color and instead of going to the color picker and making a manual adjustment, you could just hit the keystroke for the action and it would go up or down 10%.
I have tried several variations on this and everytime it resets the color in the picker to the color that was used during the time when the action was recorded.
Thanks. |

Cool idea, but you gotta be careful that such a process doesn't make the colour and tonal decisions for you. Don't get caught into thinking that 'this here plane should be a bit darker so I'll press the action once'. You have to make sure that it is still relative to the other colours/values in the pic, so I geuss it is ok as long as you know the possible problems.
Actions are difficult, you could make pauses in the process... I haven't explored it enough to offer you any advice. |

Thats indeed a very cool idea. Not useful for everything but can come in quite handy sometimes. I also just tried to make such an action but it fails on the eyedropper. It doest get recorded in the action like it should (picking the color from the picture) but rather sets the color to the value that was picked while recording the action. :-( |
