How do you think that'd affect my drawings? If the left side uses the right side of your brain and the right side uses the left side of your brain, and the artistic side is the... (Left?) and I use my mouse to draw on the computer without a tablet... you think that changes anything around in my brain? Or uses a different part ? So I'd have different art on computer with a mouse than if I used a pencil on paper? Errr.... bah, enough rambling from me. I'm just a nobody anyhow *sigh* |

the artistic side is the right
and it doesnt matter if you draw with the left hand (even though its linked with the right brain)
left handers arent more creative than right handers
but if you're right handed.. i dunno.. beats me |

i use the mouse with my right hand and the pencil/tablet pen/brushes etc with my left hand. I haven't seen that as a problem. I've got another friend who also does the same. The mouse just is more comfy in the right hand, but it hasn't at least made me any better or worse. Yea... I don't think it's a problem. problems start to come out if you try to work on a way that is unnatural to you. just do as it feels nice, it's probably the best way. I think it just might improve your coordination.
if you're worried about it just switch the mouse to the left hand... but since it's probably nicer in the right, go ahead and use it in that
and i wouldn't say lefties are more creative. I'm a leftie (for the most of the time anyhow) and I'm always having artistic blocks... and when i do manage to draw something people are "that's good but you're a leftie and it's definately due to that, you're more creative because of it" *stops rambling about people being stupid*
uh well, the best way to use the pens and mouses is the way it feels nice. and besides, there's this one good point. at least one of your hand doesn't get too stressed since you use the pen in the left and the mouse in the right hand, so the other hand gets some rest eh?
they say the artistic side of the brain is the right one, but it doesn't really matter if you use the right hand or the left hand for drawing. i think the brain can decide it for itself which is better. some people do practice with their left hand more to get the right half of the brain to be more dominant but I guess it's the amount of practice really, not whether you're a rightie or a leftie.
uhm... ignore me. just that i've been thinking about this quite a bit myself, and here's what i've come up with
[edit] typo fixed.

Ok, just was a bit worried about that Thanks for the replies. Oh, and I think I'm dominant Right hand. I do everything but eat and write/draw with my right hand I think... so... yeah. Just a weird little thing I guess *shrug* |

since the brain is not a big pile of goo where everything does everything it does not matter if you draw with left or right.
the centers for motoric movements and the centers for "creativity" are not the same thing. |
