Anyone how to get rid of the lag I'm experiencing in PS7? Sometimes when I draw using the brush tool the lines lag really bad, ie when I draw a line it won't appear on the screen right away, but instead my computer choses to wait for a fraction of a second before showing it. It's really annoying and I don't have the same problem in Painter for example. I've tried purge and everything but nothing seems to help and I've got enough hard-drive space for the swap file. I'm sorry if this has been asked before, I'm too lazy to use the searc function, and in that case you're welcome to flame me :P

Update: I've changed the Mem usage settings but to no avail... could the problem be related to what image format I'm using? I'm using *.tif to be able to switch Painter for some tasks. Is it better to use *.psd in PS?

If you have a lot of settings on the brush this can happen, try turning some of them off so that you are using a simpler less computationally heavy brush. Things that can really slow the brushes down are settings such as "scattering" and "dual brush".

Also working on very high-res images is always slow, only work as big as you need to.

Ok. I'll try and take those things into consideration. I've also noticed that having a lot of layers slows things down...

Thanks for answering!
