is there anyway of Getting rid of the shiny surface created by soft lead pencils? As the lead reflects light and and destroys the tonal range?

is there some sort of matte fixative?

i dunno..

if you could help I'd really apreciate it..

well one way's smudging the drawing. But if you want to keep it as it is, yes, there are matte fixatives. I haven't really drawn in pencil so i don't have proper art fixatives either, but i've used matte varnish spray as a thin layer to get good results. it also makes the drawing less shiny.

Yep I think Matte fixative would be best for monochromatic drawing since it removes the shininess and won't kill your saturation like it usually does with dry pastels.

you might want to consider using charcoal pencils instead if you're going to be covering broad areas of paper with tone.
