So I'm gonna be in NZ from may to july this year to work a bit on LOTR2. Anyone have any friends down there working on it?

I'm soooo f***ing excited!

Keep us posted when you can so we can keep a look out for it - I'm already lining up to see the Two Towers!

good luck man. maybe you can release a little bit of the matte paintings (i'm guessing that's what you'll be doing?) to us here, so we can see a little taste of what's comin up? :P lol j/k

But seriously, good luck. Keep us posted on how it's coming along! Don't ditch us during production! lol

Thank you guys. Yeah it's beautiful down there - but it'll be winter when I get there. But I have the feeling that I won't spend a lot of time outside.
Thanks Danny - I'm sure I'll run into your guys and will tell them you said hi.
Actually, this time the assignment is for character textures, not matte painting - but equally challenging, that's for sure.

Well - I'll check in every once in a while from down there.

I personally don't know Paul (only Carlos), but he was in the Paint department before I came to FrameStore-CFC.. I sort of filled the gap he left behind when he did the Weta move..

Danny - it'll be eight weeks - which is perfect, because I don't wanna give up my apartment, etc. while I'm down there. And it allows me to get back in time for some fat jobs during the summer production frenzy ...
