Hello again everybody! I noticed that a lot of people have very well defined paintings when they post and most of them have offered the info that they are using a tablet in order to achieve the look. I've been looking at some of the tablets for awhile now and most of them are fairly expensive (the big ones). Does anyone have advice on the Wacom economy line... the 4x5 ones around $100? or any other companies that make them that are worth the money?

Thanks in advance,
Tony

i have the 4x5 graphire2 ($100) and it's great, i love it. i don't feel restricted at all, but sometimes it would just be nice to have the 9x6 or something. i actually like it because it's smaller.

I used to have one of those TINY old ones... which was a bit small (don't know the inch measurements)... and then I bought an Intuos A3 oversize... and that was a bit big... but then I got used to it, and now it's just right

Graphire's are fine, honestly. It might sound mad but I prefer the smaller ones because I like to draw quite small in real life. If you draw big you might find it restrictive but most people can get used to a smaller tablet. Whatever you do, make sure you buy a wacom and not some other brand.

youd probably be best off with an a4 or a5. the a4 comes in a bit expensive thou. when i went to buy mine the a4 was 450 pounds, i dunno about you but the exchange rate is at 1.4 something. so it works out quite expensive.

I would recommend to buy the small wacom.. around $100 he's doing well..
If you were a Hardecored mouse artist like I was it's rought stepping over but it's worth it.

I absolutely love my 4x5 Graphire2... the one thing I wish it, though, are the buttons on the tablet. It'd just make it that much better.

Still, for the price, it's awesome. Now if I could only get the money for an Intuos..

I got myself a big 12x12 from eBay.com for $300 , it would be at least double that to buy it here(Ireland).

But I have to say, I only use about 8x6, a smaller one makes no difference, infact I like it smaller.

The way I see it, with a big one, your mostly using your arm , and with a small one your mostly using your wrist.
so which do you preffer to draw with ?
