that site has some decent beginner tutorials on how to do simple metallic textures. Once you get it all down mess around with it on your own and you can make something 300 times better. |

Usually it's not the texture that makes something look metallic. It's how the light gets reflected/bounces back from the surface of a metallic object. Meaning it always depends on the light situation - so if you take a metallic texture and put it in the wrong lighting enviroment, it won't look like metal at all.
Rust and patterned metal is a little different of course. |
