hey, i got a simple question here (i hope it's simple, at least)
To be a concept artist for games and movies, should i go to college for illustration or animation?

My best guess would be for animation. Through animation at some point you'll have to create concept sketches so you'll learn that way, and also you'll have 3d animation under your belt as well. I think goin for animation would leave you with more options, rather than going for illustration and being locked down to just concept sketches. i'm going to be going to graduate school for 3d animation because i hope to someday make it into the film industry! |

Hmm, it seems to me that you want to illustrate your ideas and let others animate them. |
