Anyone have some good pants references? I'm interested mostly in the folds and creases, and especially military style. I'm modeling some in detail, and need them to behaive properly.

Clothing and fashion magazines and catalogues are really great sources for reference pictures. You can also try doing image searches in Altavista or Google.

"Try a mirror!"

Yah, my only pants are kungfu pants. Otherwise I wear shorts ;]

"I NEED NUDE SECKSY WOMEN REFERENCES PLZ"

That's very helpful, thanks.

Jd/edible - Thanks, but I think perhaps I'll just go to an army surplus store and coerce the fellows to put on some fatigues for me. Fashion mags don't usually have the kind of material or construction I'm looking for. Thanks though!

Haha. When I first saw this thread, I thought it was "Pants PREFERENCES," as in, what kind of pants do you like to wear while doing your artwork.

I like wearing either a pair of cotton sweats, or just my underwear. Drawing in jeans is quite uncomfortable.

Oh, and your references for combat fatigues arehere.

Well, I usually sit Buddha style when I work digitally, so wearing jeans is not exactly great for my blood circulation . .. I also feel like jeans ride up on my nads when I try to sit normal. (Ok, maybe that was too much information...)

Good reference, thanks! I don't like jeans myself. This is Florida, I'm usually in shorts(often Hawaiian), lounging at my secondary desk looking into my wooded backyard when I want to draw.

Lunatique: wear bigger jeans. I've got a 29" waist and I'm 5'9", but I buy jeans with a 33" waist and at least that much inseam. My nads thank me for it.

Of course you're one of them rockstar-types, so the notion of baggy trowsas probably makes you cringe

Anthony: I've got some pants that are somewhat military looking (minus the excessive pockets) . . . I could possibly snap some reference tonight. Any specific poses you're after?

That'd be cool Brian. The most useful would be feet shoulder width apart, knees about half bent(halfway into a squat). Photo from the side(to see the knee folds). Second would be from 3/4 view, legs about 3 feet spread apart, to see the tension lines from the waist. Thanks!

They're jeans, but they have an unconventional seam. Dunno whether these will help or not, but its not big deal, I was taking pictures tonight anyhow.
