English is not my birth language so...

I often see the word "Pin-Up" for description of some art... Can someone explain me the meaning of "Pin-up"...

... i'm sure it has a link with the fact that there is always half nude women or something like this on those painting or drawing... but...

It comes from World War I or II, when soldiers would pin photos of girls to the walls of their trench/bunker/barracks.
