I was just wondering if anyone knew what became of Erol Otis? He did a lot of art for the early Dungeons and Dragons games, and his style was a real inspiration to me as a kid.
I haven't noticed his work in anything in recent years, but I was flipping through the 25th Anniversary issue of Computer Graphics World and saw a "Self Portrait by Erol Otis" from '91 on page 20. Assuming that there isn't more than one Erol Otis running around the art community, it would be cool to see what kind of digital work my old hero had come up with, and what he might be up to now.
No luck with searching the web however...
Thought it might be worth asking here,
Thanks! |

You're not finding information on him because you're spelling his name wrong. It's Erol Otus.
Apparently sometime in the late 80's he moved over to video game design.
I was never a fan of his work when I was a kid, but looking back, so many of the fantasy images that linger in my memory were his.
