You probably just want to try drawing scenery and so forth to start off. If that's too tough for you, get simple object and draw it from different angles. If you want, get a camera with two different types of lenses. One wide angle and one your standard mm lens. Then take a shot of scenery with the wide angle, and then the same area again with the standard lens. Draw and examine both so you get an idea of how the look of objects can be warped with perspective. If you don't have a camera with both lenses (usually people don't), then try using grid/guide lines on mechanical and static objects...err..I don't really have any url's for you though.
For people, I suggest learning anatomy...that usually helps in understanding how shapes takes forms from different angles. |

You could also try simplifying the body down to simple shapes. Start with just cubes or cylinders replacing all the body parts and draw it with perspective that way, then continue on generalizing the body parts down peice by peice. A hand for example is basically a square with 4 cylinders off the top, and a circle and another cylinder off the side. If you want to keep going further with it, try generalizing the shapes down to polygons like you're making it as a 3d model and deform that for perspective. It's often easier to draw the shape with out the perspective, then draw it with perspective using the regular drawing as reference. Also, don't forget the usefulness of a mirror a digital camera. |
