whenever i am really paintin i am more in a kind of trance, i don't think anything (just some vague ...things... if a "normal" thought is a cube, i think clouds in this state).
i often feel a lot when painting in this trance. maybe because i am kind of an emotion-junky

hmmmm.... i usually think about the drawing/painting. i'm usually busy thinking about how this or that would look, so I can't think about anything else like... my g/f, the music,...etc.
a lot of times i'll sit back and look at it and think "what would Da Vinci say if he was looking at this?" then i have a whole conversation with Da Vinci in my head...
does anyone else do that? maybe not even when painting, but at any time do you have conversations in your head? lol. i mean, thinking as if you know you're going to be starting a conversation a certain way with someone soon, and you run through the conversation in your head. I don't know if you get what I mean, but I do that a lot.

I usually have on music that is easy to sing along to like creed or nickelback so I'm usually concentrating more on staying in tune while bawling my lounges out than I am on the actual painting... I just sort of switch that part off and let my hand do the work...

Yep, what Sedone said, specially the peeing part. You'll be surprised how much trips to the bathroom I do in a day. But I guess it's because I drink a lot of water.

I too have long conversations in my head, like if speaking with someone in particular. And what it's weird, its that later I usually end up having the same conversation for real with that person.

Damn, Sedone just about nailed it.

I often argue with myself in my head too over almost every aspect of what I'm working on. The creative passionate side hates the lazy impatient side.
They fight, they fight...they fight they fight they fight...fight fight fight...fight fight fight

And when I'm listening to music I'm directing movies all in my head that go along with the music. Usually relating to what I'm drawing.

But usually my thoughts are something like this: "Why am I doing this. I could be playing Falcon4. I still haven't finished GTA3 or MGS2. My name is written on one of the stones in the Aztec level in Cel Damage if you knock it over. I need to unlock the different rendering modes to see it. I don't have a memory card for my Gamecube yet but I bet I can beat Rogue Squadron 2 if I play it all the way through. How long could it be? There has to be something new to unlock in DOA3, there just has to be. Did TheOnion update yet? Will OldManMurray ever update again? What the hell is all this Enron stuff about? Wait, omg. Did I just drink from the wrong soda can!? " etc etc
