Painter 7 is a 2D paint and graphical design package that attempts to simulate traditional tools (i.e. oil paint, watercolour, chalks etc.) on a digital canvas.

no, it is not comparable to these two.
zbrush and 3dpainter are some kind of "sculpting" or "3d painting" programs.
think of painter as "a photoshop with less power concerning filters, layer management etc... but a hell of a lot more power concerning brushes and brush configuration" and you know what you get. |

consider it something thats a pain in the ass to learn but pays off when you do. |
