HOLY mother OF GOD i got INTO sheridan's animation course.. wooohoooooooooooooo... fucken RIGHT... now i just need to keep a B+ average in Art fundies and im in for SURE....

Im having such a goood day... anyone else have good news?? post in here

That's great wigin!

My good news came a few weeks ago, but I'll say it anyway. I got into Digital Media at The College of Fine Arts here in Sydney. It may not be as great as Art Center or sheridan, but I can't afford to move to the US.
The course sounds great, we get to do life drawing, spacial construction drawing, 3d animation, storyboarding, sound design, the list goes on and on!

yeah i got in through special admissions.. but i have to tell you that like half the people they picked arent really good.. I mean i live with 2 animators soo they taught me ALOT about drawing.. actually people in my course thought i was ALREADY in animation HAHAHA ...

but yeah DR bang ill post some life drawing that i put in my portfolio as soo as i get the time to take some pictures... i put in 1 sheet of 1 min poses , 1 two minute pose .. and a shit load of 5 mins!!!!

hey liser hmm i dont think he goes to sheridan college.. if you read his main page it says that he LIVES IN OAKVILLE ( where sheridan college is ) but he is moving to Ottawa to take the animation program down there...

ya see, i used to go to the same art forum as him (yoU aRe Drawing) and when he got into Sheridan he got this huge ego, and started bossing people around saying "i go to a big name school"
ah, but what can you do about that, eh.

Liser.. umm well fromt eh drawings ive seen on his web site .. them um kinda sucks.. i mean ANIME??? i think someone in animation at sheridan would have better drawing skills than the pictures on that site.. even people in fundies are much better than that..

I see some animation students at sheridan into anime and well the pictures they do wether they are in fundies or 3rd year animation THEY ARE much better than those.. I can just see the teachers laughing at him now..

I dont see why he would go from sheridan and exchange to Algonquin.. unless he got kicked out of sheridan for doing crappy pictures....Or he just lied or something...

I hvae good news, not as good as getting excepting into schools or getting cameras, but the kind of good news that helps that kind of thing happen. Because there was a snow day today, i skipped 4 tests! ,a music test (which i deffinitly would have failed cause I couldn't study cause i left my book at school) a french test (I would have done horribly because i suck at french) a math test (might not have failed, but the fact that I didn'tr have to do it is good!)
and a science terms test (which even if i didnt fail, the teacher would fuck me over and try and make me fail because hes a fat old jealous bastard who thinks that digital art and computers all together are the devil, and because of that dislikes me) and instead of school i sat at home and played computer all day! and all we have tommorow is art and drama, ahahhahaha

well actually we have math too, but I generally don't do work in maht, I jus sit around and draw. and in language arts i either write stories or draw.

Silver fish...well the thing is what i meant is that the people they picked are good in the classes we have in art fundamentals BUT NOT SOO good at life drawing. Trust me ive seen people go to life drawing everynight and they are AWESOME but for some reason they didnt get in. To tell you the truth half the people that did get into animation well i have never seen around school and the other half are people you see working there ass off.. The thing is Sheridan is a Business . Anything to get money to pay off the new scaet building they built. If someone in fundies arent from canada well they have a better chance getting in simply because tuition fee for them is like what double or triple what canadians pay!!!!!...

But really i dont really care if all these people that are getting into animation and arent really good at life drawing because they will have to deal with that next year. And might get kicked out...

another point is that there is NO drawing test to get in !!! sooo people can easily cheat and get someone else to do the portfolio adn well they will figure out when they actually start animation that THEY wont be able to do the work to a specific calibre...

finally ... In no way did i mean to say they sucked But all i meant is that there life drawings skills are not up to what they should be for animation. Im sure that most people are better than me in painting and 2d design but the reason why i got in was because my life drawing is better than most art funfies. Im positive if these people would apply through portfolio wouldnt get in because of there life drawing ( which IS a HUGE part of the animation program ) I know for a fact that if i would apply through normal porfolio i would um CRASH and burn the first few times because i dont know shit about posing and layout and story boarding!!!

Anyways hope this clears things a bit...

that's probably a really good possibility. perhaps he just lied about it so everyone is like "oh, i bathe in your sweat!" know what i mean? A lot of people do stupid things like that... like, taking other people's artwork and claiming it as their own. I'm not talking about a copy, but actually just taking the actual picture as their own. What's the point? Does it actually make you feel good by finding good pictures and saying you drew them? That's so stupid...
Same here... if he says "i got into sheridan" and didn't really, does it make him feel better? Wouldn't it actually make you feel worse, cuz you know you suck so bad that you can't get in?!
Or, the other option, he got in, and he STUNK and is failing, and is transfering to a different school so he can get decent grades? But I don't know how he'd get in with that portfolio in the first place. I was gonna say myself that he sucked, but I didn't want to sound... rude. lol.

liser.. year i know what you mean.. But i dont know maybe he just lied about it in the ONLINE world so that people think of him to be better than he really is... Iguess trying to make your self better makes you feel better.. Have you ever lied to someone trying to make your self better than them!!!! like you know My dad is bigger than your dad type of thing =).. i know alot of people do that.... including me when i was younger! ahh well ..

First off, let me congratualate wigin on getting direct entry, it was tough last year, I couldn't make the pool to even get in, but hey, I still got in to an animation program.

Second, I'd like to clear a few things up about my webpage and the artwork. While liser plugged my artwork (unknown to me that he did I found out through someone else) I don't have a problem with that, however, I felt he did get crossed up in the information that was available on my page. I was at Sheridan last year for Art fundamentals, and wasn't taken back into Animation. And it's not because I drew anime - in fact, that is what I do outside of class. In class, I follow the guidelines set by the teachers, indulging myself when circumstances permit. What I DO have a problem with, is liser plugging my artwork in representation of my drawing abilities. I felt it necessary at this point to step in and say something on my own behalf, so people don't have the wrong idea about me or what I do. I have a complete fine arts portfolio outside of my for fun website, and for those of you who would like to see it, I can make it available, but, I just hope that you all don't think I'm some hopeless otaku hellbent on doing that and only that style.

If you guys think what liser is saying is true, then what can I do to stop you from thinking what you do? I just think it wasn't fair of people to pass judgement on something that should have never been brought up in the first place.

As for how well I draw, hey, we all need to improve don't we? :P

If you guys really want to talk to me (to see if I'm the asshole that liser is saying I am) feel free to email me, I don't think it's necessary to post anything else on this thread.

Well that's that, I just felt I needed to say that. :3
