scratching the surface? or the case? i dont do anything. some people put paper over the plastic sheet to simulate paper feel or whatever. but i dont see how it could get too damaged. i drop mine all the time and its all broken but thats cuz im a gimp.

i think me mean the surface cause i scratched mine while drawing. I dragged the pen tip over a small hard piece of dust and it creates a long scratch mark on the damn surface.

I think they made it easy to scratch on purpose, so people have to buy their new parts that cost almost as much as a new one.

I've just checked their website and the replacement surface cost 14 bucks for a 6x8. WTF.

Oh yea, and i hate this Wacom kid

yeah, my surface is scratched up a little...not too bad, but it bothers me sometimes.

I found that if you put a sheet of low adhesive plastic on the surface, and make sure that there are no bubbles or wrinkles, it will not scratch the surface. Or you could work in a surgically clean room and be extremely careful, but for most of us artist types that is prety much impossible...
