ok. i draw becuause i have imagination
of woman, life and the wiere stuff in my brain.
i love to draw isnt because i draw a good picture and show it to other people, it is put something that is wonderful to reality so then i can revisit it.
digital art can be reproduced? bull shit. if the creator print his picture and never release(or delete) the original copy. there is no way other people can get a hold of the original digital copy.
anyhow. any kind of traditional art can be scan and reproduce. therefore both traditional art and digital art can be reproduced.
if something is beautiful there is a lover. nomatter what. bill gate got a McClearen F1, so u dont want one just because he has one? |

I draw to please myself and it makes me glad to be able to sometimes create things that others appreciate. It gives me great peace - However, if I were alone in the world, would i still draw pictures? I really don't know. Would you?
I love drawing. I want to get to the point at which the images i draw are the same as the ones in my mind... |

I do because it is one of the few things that doesn't bore me to death. In school art classes are the only classes I don't religiously fall asleep in. It takes so much skill and such a different state of mind than everything else. There is more but that is the main reason.
Oh! And also because it is the number one thing I would like to be good at. Like if I could chose to excel at one thing, it would be art. Too bad I wasn't born with the artist genes =..(

i agree to -pz-.
one more reason for me is therapy. drawing can take so much weight off my shoulders when i'm in trouble.
also, drawing draws my mind to a completely different state, as pz said. his is a state i love being in. nothing counts except paper and pencil. time, status, appearance, character, being accepted... all these things don't take an important role when drawing. |

I never really got the chance to like drawing... I bet there are plently of people here that have gone thru school being labeled 'the best drorwa'. drawing has for as long as I can remember has always been about making shit for other people. now that Im working it still is.
personal work? I agree it is a different state of mind - not that you become more introvert and go to 'another dimention in your mind man' or some funky shit like that - but I see it as Im the client therefore I cant do just any old cool looking scribble just to fake myself out - I become more critical and therefore always manage to challenge what looks right and what is credible thus expanding my repetoire in ninjutsu. woooo! |

Well I have always drawn so I dont really know why, except maybe there is something inherent in my brain that makes me want to draw, to make my mark in the world. Other than that, I've always drawn because I was proud of my ability and its pretty much the only activity that satisfies my insatiable desire to create. If other people like what I draw, that is icing on the cake.
I also like drawing for the same reason Gekitsu said. When I draw I sometimes work myself into such a deep state of concentration that I forget everything else. I can literally draw all day long and never get bored, because I'm completely "into" the work. |

I draw because I need to take out the frustration on the paper, or wooden board. On the second thought, I don't really like to draw, it's kind of like a therapy for me, even if my stuff sometimes is crappy. Drawing makes me feel good. |

I hate drawing.. Because I can never draw anything as good or exciting as I can imagine it..
I love drawing.. when I sometimes get it right anyway.. (shit happens)
A "classic" love/hate thing.. |

The fact is....different people love doing different things. Art is like music to my ears.....
When I was younger, my parents wanted to buy me a piano. I said to them if they bought it, then I wouldn't touch it, so they sent me to drawing classes.
I guess I 1st started drawing not knowing what I was getting into but the result/end product was always an improvement to the last.
Drawing also gives you a sense of free expression... I know that if I was in the mood to draw then I could produce a fantastic piece of art, but if I was buggered, then that feeling would definately reflect through my work..... |
