Heyall.
I was just wondering about the high detail pieces you peezp work with. How high of a resolution do u set? I'm having a little trouble with the stuff i draw.
This is related to the Brush Properties we all set. Like the rule "Use hard brushes and not soft" Even when blending.
And i'ts true that. peopel usually paint in high resolution files (lots of pixels)
so that,
1) they can add a higher level of detail
2) Size it down later on to make everything look smoother (brush strokes less noticable (especially if you're using Hard brushes like all the way))
i'm having trouble with 2).
How much "going over" and msoothign things out am i suppose to do. or ... Can some of you post some like detail closeup shots of your brush strokes?
How do you achieve something like Enayla where all her stuff is like smooth ass?
Im working on a piece right now dat's 1800 by 2600 around. because anythign higher is too slow for my computer. . but i'm also printing this as 13" x 19"
Bascilally i can't really size down my image any more otherwise the print wn't look too godo rite?
but then when i print it .it's really easy to see the brushstrokes
ack i'm rambling sorry, but i would just liek to have some insight on how YOU guys do it? like What resolution u work at, how much do u size it down ? How much smoothing do you do with your brushes and .. you all do use hard brushes .. cuz it's the way to go rite?....
ahhhh
thanks |

I think Enayla uses the airbrush(don't quote me on that) and it's a lot easier to get smooth things with the airbrush but it's very difficult to get cool textures out of it(in my experience that is) |

I personally make my canvas 6000pix or more. I do this to get more detail witch may or may not even show up on the internet version but will show up on the printed version.
I like the Airbrush myself, but I'm exploring the paintbrush. As Svanur pointed out its harder to make texture with the airbrush.
As far as sizing down..... well I just size it the what ever resolution I want my viewers to see it at 800x600, 1024x768 and so on. |

Hrm Snakebyte, So yes working up int eh big res is good cause of the detail. I finished my thing i'll upload it at gallery later. And mbe some of you guys can help me poitn if i've smoothed enough.
Yeh. I skipp the airbrush too and just paintbrush it all i dot' think tha't s good idea then. not like i do alot of texturing cuz i'm nto that good
anyhow. 6000 px thing? but do u size it down to a certain resolution before printing
so that your brustrokes aren't too evident
I used my 13 x 19" inkjet printer HP to print . my piece (13 x 19" 150 dpi ) set in phtooshop
and.. yes i worked in that mode.. so all the brushstrokes were seen.. like they didn't look too good
Are we suppose to work larger size it down to a optimal format for printing so that it looks more smooth
and in the case of viewing on monitors size that down alot more as well
.
I sized my piece down to viewing and it looks a hell of a lot better
anyways thanks for replyign all of u |
