Hello everyone ,
I am new here , and i am really happy i found this place , very nice art , weather taraditional or Digital .
Next , my question , how should i star t in 3D ? I know how to use painter , photoshop , i know anatomy , how to draw , paint ... etc , i just dont know the application in 3D , i looked around , and found many places saying "Maya is too powerful for a beginner" and more of theese lines which tell you that if your a beginner in 3D , dont start witt MAYA , so my question is , what program should i start with ? And any good beginner books accompanying it ? .
Thanks |

Don't listen to that crap Dude - I'd highly recommend Maya. Yes - it's a deep program - but hey - why not start with it? I started with it and I'm doing just fine. And it's quite a powerful program as well. But when it comes down to it - it's not the tool - it's the artist - but also - as far as possible employment goes, Using a highend program like Maya really helps the chances. Maya is quickly becoming more widley used, and you don't hear as much about 3dsmax anymore.
What do you plan on doing with it? Max has some great tools for poly modelling . . . Lightwave has some good tools and a great render system . . .
I dunno - just babbling. hope some of this helped. |

"Maya is too powerful for a beginner"
so does 3dsmax, so does ANY 3d program. Give your self a week or two and you should be able to start to model.
If you buy the 3dmax manual book, it shows you everything you need to know, so you dont have to surf the net and stuff to find the tutorials you want. |

Its not the programs its the concepts. most companies have their own 3d software anyway, so no point in spending half your life learning one package. |
